With an impressive track record of involvement with UCF and the College of Business, marketing student Marisa McCarty received the Student Founders’ Award as the university celebrated Founders’ Day on April 1. McCarty is a member of the Professional Selling Program, President’s Leadership Council and a College of Business Student Ambassador. She makes it her mission to constantly challenge herself and take on new responsibilities.

“To me, the Student Founders’ Award showcases someone who gets involved and is helping others achieve success and that’s why this is really special to me,” McCarty said. “I was so incredibly happy when I received this recognition.”

The Founders’ Day Honors Convocation recognizes faculty, staff members and students for outstanding teaching, research, professional service and years of dedication to the university. Every year, the dean of each college selects one undergraduate student to receive the Student Founders’ Award for exceptional work within their area of study.

“I’ve been lucky to be able to surround myself with people who challenge and inspire me to create an avenue of success,” McCarty said. “Having people who keep you accountable and being around leaders that you strive to become helps you put yourself in their shoes and hold yourself accountable.”

Six College of Business faculty received recognition for outstanding work in their respective fields of study.
