Biography
Ms. Connell is the Lead Faculty for the Integrated Business Foundations course in the Integrated Business program and an Associate Instructor. Originally from Austin, Texas, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and General Business with a minor in Economics from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. Continuing her education at the University of Central Florida, she earned an M.B.A. with a specialization in Accounting.
She has 20+ years of higher education teaching experience within the management field, including organizational behavior, business ethics and social responsibility, management of organizations, and strategic management.
Prior to beginning her teaching career, Ms. Connell worked for the City of DeLand doing research and city planning, as an accountant for a small public accounting firm specializing in trust accounting, and managed a small beachside business in Daytona Beach Shores.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Connell likes to maintain her connection to the business community as an active board member of the Florida Small Business Development Center’s advisory board, providing expertise to small businesses and helping them solve problems and create opportunities. She also does independent consulting projects for local businesses including the Jacksonville Jaguars, WMFE and the City of Oviedo. She also devotes her time each year to the Odyssey of the Mind Regional Tournament.
