The Executive MBA program features a required international residency as part of the program’s International Business Analysis course (GEB 6365). This immersive travel experience strengthens the overall EMBA experience by preparing students to lead in the increasingly interconnected and competitive global marketplace.



Residency Highlights

The EMBA International Residency is a required, week-long global immersion program held during the fourth term (Fall 2) of the EMBA. It provides students with practical experience in an international business setting. Throughout the residency, students engage in roundtable discussions, formal presentations, and company visits with executives from diverse industries, applying lessons learned from their international business course. The program also features cultural activities and local exploration for a well-rounded international experience.
 
Learning Outcomes:

  • Global Business Insight: Learn how global trends and regulations affect business operations from exposure to different markets, economies and business practices.
  • Practical Experience: Apply theoretical knowledge in real-world international settings, deepening the understanding of global business strategies and decision-making.

The faculty, in collaboration with the College’s third-party travel provider, presents a curated list of top International Residency destinations to the EMBA cohort. After reviewing the pros and cons of each option in group discussions, the cohort votes to select the final travel destination.

What’s Included

The College of Business partners with a third-party partner specializing in the planning and execution of Executive MBA international residency programs. The travel partner, in conjunction with the faculty and our staff, create and execute the residency’s detailed educational and travel itinerary. Expenses for the EMBA International Residency are included with the EMBA tuition except for international airfare from and to Orlando.
 
Included with International Residency:

  • Hotel accommodation during residency
  • Travel from first destination city to second destination city
  • Local transportation to company visit and excursions
  • Most meals during residency including special welcome and farewell dinners
  • Cultural excursions
