Winning App Helps Student Pilots Reduce Training Costs, Emissions
Congratulations to UCF students Tyler Worrall, Laura Murillo and Rachel Flasterstein who finished first, second and third, respectively, at the UCF Social Venture Competition. The competition focused on solutions intended to impact society’s problems.
Worrall’s application, PostFlight, connects student pilots who are then able to share flights, cutting down on training costs and reducing carbon emissions by 50 percent. Murillo’s company, KNOW, provides discrete, cost-effective at-home STD tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia. Flasterstein’s online store, FreeTheV, provides safe and effective gynecologist-recommended vaginal and sexual health solutions.
The Social Venture Competition is an annual event open to current UCF students and features cash prizes for the top three finishers.
