11 Students to Earn Scholarships Through the State Farm PSP Competition

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 18, 2025) — State Farm, in partnership with the UCF College of Business, announced recently the renewal of its grant for University of Central Florida students enrolled in the school’s national championship Professional Selling Program. Now, in its eighth year, State Farm has upped its grant to $15,000, which provides scholarships to the nationally-recognized program that prepares students to become leaders in all selling arenas.

“Scholarships provide an essential source of education funding for many of our students,” said Associate Lecturer of Marketing Bill Steiger, who leads the 11-time national champion PSP program. “The partnership with State Farm is both educational and an important financial benefit.”

State Farm will grant 11 scholarships to PSP students who will compete in the State Farm PSP Competition in the Fall. Each year, competitors are asked to develop a State Farm-centered plan, developing a comprehensive insurance plan for a fictitious family in a case study competition. The winner will receive a $4,000 grant with the next 10 finishers each receiving $1,000 grants.

“We wanted to help prepare students to be more life-integrated ready, so they can use those skills when those first paychecks start coming in and they can help others on this journey,” said State Farm agent Justin Bauknight. “So, we created a scholarship to challenge them. As part of the competition, students are asked a lot of questions regarding what should you do when you’re trying to reach your dreams and still meet all of your needs.”

The Professional Selling Program competes in multiple events every semester, including the Bayou Sales Challenge, USF Selling with the Bulls, National Collegiate Sales Competition, Robert Morris University Virtual Sales Challenge and the Global Bi-lingual Sales Competition.
