Biography
Dr. Valeriya Shapoval is an associate professor who joined the Rosen College of Hospitality Management faculty in August 2016. She received her Ph.D. in Hospitality Management and a Certificate in Big Data Analytics from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Shapoval also has an MPS in Applied Statistics from the School of Industrial Labor Relations, Cornell University (2005). She has over 12 years of experience in the USA’s hospitality industry and internationally and has co-owned real estate investment and management for over 15 years.
Dr. Shapoval’s research interests lie in organizational psychology, emotions, workers’ emotional and mental well-being, tourism, and destination management. Dr. Shapoval has extensively studied and published in those areas. Her research has been published in various top-ranked journals, including the International Journal of Hospitality Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Annals of Tourism Research, and Journal of Travel Research, among others. She is also the Managing Editor for the International Journal of Hospitality Management and a board member of Tourism Economics.
