Biography
Tom Goes is originally from the Chicagoland area. He is one of four children and is married to Joanna. They have three children.
Tom began interviewing with Northwestern Mutual in 1995 while in Chicago, then with Bill Goodwin in Atlanta. He began his career in June 1998 as a representative with Robert Kerrigan, Northwestern Mutual – Strategic Financial Group in Los Angeles. Shortly after moving to Tampa in 2003 to be with his future bride, he became Managing Director of Tampa’s office in 2008.
Throughout Tom’s multiple moves and transitions, he has achieved numerous Northwestern prestigious awards, including Forum, Top 100 for Life Insurance Face Amount, 100 lives club, and he’s received the Life Impact Award 10 times. He’s also received numerous new financial representative awards, such as Pacesetter First 40, Top 50 Platinum, Top 50 Gold, Top 50 Silver and Bronze awards. Most recently, he led his district to finish #1 Nationally in Category 2 for the Awards Year.
Within the industry, Tom’s accolades include Million Dollar Round Table membership since 1999, National Quality Award, National Sales Achievement Award and National Association of Financial Advisors Quality Award.
Tom graduated from Florida Southern with a focus in accounting and he received his MBA in Finance/Accounting from Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill.
He was appointed Managing Partner on Jan. 1, 2015, only the second Managing Partner in the agency’s history. He and his wife, Joanna, currently live in Orlando with their three children: their oldest, daughter Audra and their two sons, Callum and Beckett.
