Biography
Shelley Maccini is the lead instructor for the Data Driven Decision Making course with the Integrated Business program, where she occasionally teaches other courses in the IB curriculum. Previously, she taught classes in marketing communications and in Excel skills.
In addition to being a double Knight, Dr. Maccini holds an undergraduate degree in hospitality from the University of New Hampshire and a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University. At UCF, she completed her MBA and a PhD in Texts and Technology, where her research interests focused on the ethical use of game mechanics to create rewards structures in customer loyalty programs.
Throughout her professional career, Dr. Maccini has worked in a variety of organizations from small businesses to large corporations, including Hilton Worldwide and the Walt Disney Company. She also has experience in the public sector at the both the federal and county levels, including serving as Executive Director of Experience Kissimmee, the Destination Marketing Organization for Osceola County. Her professional areas of specialization include strategic planning, marketing, research and data analysis.
Outside the classroom, she is developing a project in engagement marketing for the sports and tourism industries. In her free time, Dr. Maccini enjoys traveling with her family.
