Biography

Dr. Lauryn De George is a Senior Instructor in the College of Business at the University of Central Florida.

Dr. De George earned her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Florida in 2014. Her multidisciplinary work examined the characteristics of the College of Business’ Strategic Management course to fulfill the employment needs of community business leaders in Central Florida. The implications of this study directly impacted course design and AACSB accreditation mandates. As a recipient of the Rotary International Scholarship, Dr. De George achieved her Master of Business Administration from the University of Wales at Aberywstwyth, Great Britain. Her Master’s thesis investigated international marketing strategies for a Welsh food product and was published in both the United Kingdom and the United States. This was preceded by a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Rowan University, New Jersey.

As a talented educator with skills in pedagogy creation and implementation, curriculum development and learning management for undergraduate students, mid-career learners and executives, Dr. De George has been a faculty member of the College of Business since 1998. Her teaching portfolio includes courses in: Strategic Management, Business Ethics and Society, International Management, Global Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Organizational Behavior, “Cornerstone” Lab, Integrated Marketing Communications, Introduction to Leadership, Foundations of Leadership and Principles of Marketing. She receives outstanding evaluations for her dedication to student learning with many students citing her as the “best professor at UCF.” Her commitment to student engagement and development is evidenced by numerous teaching incentive program awards, College of Business undergraduate excellence in teaching award, UCF Service Learning Appreciation award and a Florida Campus Compact Certified Scholar.

She plays an active role in the academic and professional community. Her consulting projects include strategic analysis for the Jacksonville Jaguars, US Department of Defense and General Motors. She also develops case studies and learning exercises in both digital and traditional formats for McGraw Hill Irwin, Sage Publications and Seminole Corporate College. A frequent lecturer, she has delivered presentations to the Moroccan American Business Alliance, Central Florida International Trade Office, Model United Nations and international conferences on teaching and learning. Working with non-profit organizations is also a key component of Lauryn De George’s profile. She sits on the Board of Trustees of Boys Town of Central Florida and assists Kids House of Seminole County, New Hope for Kids, and Devereux Florida.
