Biography

Dr. Gish earned his Ph.D. in Management from the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business before joining the Department of Management faculty at UCF as an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship. His research is at the intersection of entrepreneurship and organizational behavior, including topics such as entrepreneurial well-being, an entrepreneur’s personal psychological resources and the depletion/recovery of those resources, individual-level crowdfunding performance, the development of culture in new and established organizations, and social movement influences on startup activity. Prior to his academic role, Gish founded multiple businesses with successful exits, and is currently an investor and advisor in several startups.

His research publications have appeared in peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and have been featured by Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, Fast Company, Thrive Global, and several other popular press outlets. Jeff serves on the editorial review boards for Journal of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. He was born in Alaska and currently lives in Florida with his wife and three children.
