Biography
Student access and success has been at the foundation of the mission of The University of Central Florida since its inception over 60 years ago. As is noted in the current UCF Strategy Plan, “We believe that our mission and fundamental purpose is to identify and unleash an individual’s potential by making high-quality, post-secondary education affordable and accessible.”
Building upon the stated UCF mission, at the College of Business, our objective is clear: help our students and faculty “Get to the ONE.” For students, we strive to be the place where they can achieve their academic objectives to be the ONE who gets the job, starts a business, makes the sale, makes a contribution and mentors others.
The vision of the role of Student Advocate, internally entitled, “Future Alumni Empowerment Coordinator” is to support our students in their quest to become future alumni by “empowering” them to advocate for and “OWN” their success; both in the classroom and in their personal lives. Students often experience “non-academic” challenges or life stressors that can adversely impact their academic success. The Future Alumni Empowerment Coordinator aims to encourage and “empower” students to acquire and/or refine the skills necessary to navigate the full range of life issues they encounter to reach their full potential.
Having obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UCF and obtained professional experience as a clinician and in the education field, Imamia Murshed is well equipped to support College of Business future alumni in a manner that promotes their success whether academic or non-academic. As a future professional it is crucial to explore your values and identity in an intentional manner, honing the skills required to make your mark in this world. I would be privileged to be a part of your current and future success, both personally and professionally!
