Biography

Dr. Harvey holds a cryptologic computer science certificate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; a bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine and computer science from Mississippi Valley State University; and a master’s in computer science and Doctor of Science from Bowie State University.

His research experience includes post-graduate work at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology in bioinformatics and integrative genomics, a fellowship with i2b2 at the National Center for Biomedical Computing with an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School, and research at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in clinical research informatics.

Dr. Harvey served for more than a decade with the Department of Defense and National Security Agency as chief of operations data science. He has also held roles as a solutions architect at Databricks’ federal division and director of data science at Maxar, supporting the Central Intelligence Agency.

He currently serves as a research professor in data analytics through a joint program in engineering and computer science, and as a senior faculty researcher at Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health in the Department of Biostatistics.
