Biography

Dr. Alex Rubenstein is an Associate Professor of Management and Ph.D. program coordinator for the College of Business at UCF. He earned his Ph.D. in Management from the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida, and dual bachelor’s degrees in business (B.A.) and psychology (B.S.) from the University of Washington.

Research, Teaching, and Service Activities
Dr. Rubenstein’s research interests focus on employee transitions into and out of organizations, which primarily concern newcomer adjustment and employee withdrawal/turnover processes. His work has been published in several top-tier management journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and the Journal of Management, among other outlets.

Dr. Rubenstein has taught at the undergraduate, Master’s, executive and doctoral levels, with courses including organizational behavior, human resource management, recruitment/selection, leadership, and research methods.

Dr. Rubenstein serves on the editorial board for several premier journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, the Journal of Management and the Journal of Organizational Behavior.
