Associate Provost for Space Commercialization & Strategy

Greg Autry was recently hired by UCF as the Associate Provost for Space Commercialization & Strategy and will be teaching our #BusinessKnights about the quickly-evolving field of Space Commercialization. The author has previously been named Space Activist of the Year and enjoys being outdoors or writing his next book. Learn more about him below.

How long have you been a Knight? This is my first year.

What is your area of research at UCF? Space entrepreneurship, space policy, China

What awards or honors are you most proud of? Space Activist of the Year 2020

What do you love about what you do? Space is the most important thing to happen in at least half a millennia. We are charting a new future for humanity, improving the lives of billions, saving our biosphere, making our nation more secure, and creating jobs right now.

Faculty Spotlight: Greg Autry

What do you find most exciting and rewarding about your field of study? The passion of the space community. People at NASA, in the US Space Force, in industry and the space fans. People don’t just work in the space economy, they love every minute of it.

When you’re not in the classroom, what can we find you doing? Writing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, skiing, scuba diving, boating.

What is your favorite UCF memory? Getting lost while skateboarding around campus. 

What is your best advice for Business Knights? The Space community is always open to newcomers who share the vision of a better future. Become technically savvy in whatever field you chose and always, always be networking. We live in a world of constantly accelerating change. Never fear change, embrace the opportunities it creates.
