With over a decade at UCF, Associate Professor Dana Wallace brings a powerful blend of passion, purpose, and expertise to the Department of Accounting. A dedicated educator and award-winning researcher, her work centers on the intersection of corporate responsibility, governance, and transparency, areas that reflect her belief in the role business plays in shaping a better world. Whether mentoring students, breaking down complex accounting concepts, or cheering on UCF Softball with her kids, her approach every role with heart. A champion for education, ethics, and community, she reminds Business Knights that true success is rooted in kindness, hard work, and giving back.

What is your favorite UCF memory? Attending UCF Softball games with my softball-playing kiddos.

What is your area of research at UCF? Corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, disclosure

What professional awards or honors have you earned during your career? UCF College of Business Research Incentive Award (RIA), Teaching Incentive Program (TIP) Award, Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award, Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award

What do you love about what you do? I love the opportunity to think deeply and continually learn about topics that truly fascinate me. I find great joy in breaking down complex accounting concepts to make them more understandable and relatable for our students, and I’m especially grateful for the chance to connect with so many of our fantastic students along the way.

What do you find most exciting or rewarding about your field of study? Accounting evolves with business innovation while promoting ethics, transparency, and accountability. It plays a vital role in helping organizations stay responsible to all stakeholders.

When you’re not in the classroom, what can we find you doing? Outside the classroom, I coach youth sports, lead my daughters’ Girl Scout troop, and mentor foster youth. I love live music, cycling, and going on adventures with my husband and our three daughters.

What are some little known facts about you? I’m a big fan of NYC and Broadway, and I am an avid reader. I’m especially passionate about community involvement and supporting the most vulnerable in our society.

What is your advice for Business Knights? Work hard, be kind, enjoy the journey, and always find ways to give back. Success means more when it’s paired with integrity, joy, and a commitment to others.
