Dr. Altiero Poziemski is a lecturer and Master’s Program Director for the Dixon School of Accounting. She has been with UCF for nearly 10 years, but before her time at the College of Business, her journey took her through some unexpected career changes.
“It’s never too late to change what you want to be when you grow up. I was a chemical engineering major, then a microbiology major, and then a biology major with veterinary school aspirations. I finished the biology degree, but then pursued a Master’s Degree in accounting instead of veterinary school. After graduation, I worked in public accounting with EY until returning to school for my Ph.D. and ultimately becoming an accounting professor.”
Dr. Poziemski inspires students to have fun learning to see that accounting is not as boring as it is often portrayed.
