She earned her Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Florida. She is an AICPA Minority Doctoral Fellowship recipient, a McNair Doctoral Fellow, a McKnight Doctoral Fellow and a member of The PhD Project. She maintains professional memberships with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) the Greater Orlando Chapter, the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and the American Accounting Association (AAA).
