Rick Washick, M.B.A, MAAE
Mr. Washick is a Faculty Instructor in Data Driven Decision Making and Managerial Economics for the Integrated Business program. He completed his Associate of Arts degree from Valencia Community College, his undergraduate degree in Economics from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, as well as two Master of Arts Degrees from the University of Central Florida in Applied Economics (MAAE) as well as Business Administration (MBA). All degrees achieved were accomplished while working full-time in the private sector and attending college on a part-time basis.
Mr. Washick has lived in Central Florida since the early 1970s remembering when UCF was originally called Florida Technological University. As a local resident, he has watched UCF grow from a small public college with just a few thousand students to the large, well-respected and impressive university UCF now represents.
He has an extensive background in the private sector working primarily in retail and financial analysis over the past several decades working at well-known companies such as Publix Supermarkets, Inc., Ron Jon Surf Shop, as well as an Orlando-based global entertainment solutions company. Throughout his career, he has held positions of supervisor of inventory management, senior financial analyst and controller to name a few.
In addition, he taught Economics as a part-time instructor for 10 years at Valencia College, where he found his passion in teaching and mentoring students. He enjoys applying Economic theory and concepts to what occurs on a daily basis in the private sector. When the opportunity arose to join the UCF Integrated Business Program as a Faculty Instructor, Mr. Washick didn’t hesitate.
Mr. Washick is married with two grown children (both graduates of UCF), and in his free time, he and his wife like to visit state and national parks. They also enjoy camping, hiking or simply relaxing on several acres of vacant land owned near Chattanooga, Tenn.
