Biography

Michael J. O’Donnell Sr. is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board and principal in MOD Ventures LLC, as well as an investor and principal in new ventures. Recent investments include the retail, security, internet, medical, entertainment, food service and education sectors.

He was a co-founder and the co-CEO of ALS LLC, commercial construction, clerical & light industrial, performance-based employee staffing. ALS LLC was sold in 2007 and employed in excess of 6,000 permanent and FTE temporary employees at that time.

O’Donnell was Managing Director and Chief Technology Investment Officer for GATX Capital, Global Technology Services Division, where he has operating experience, and was elected to the Board of Directors, for financing joint ventures in Great Britain, Germany and Australia. This is part of a 15-year career, as a principal, in the equipment leasing business. He specialized in asset management and the structuring of leasing transactions for essential use corporate assets. He worked for 13 years in various management positions for companies supplying product to the automotive industry, including a management led LBO.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Master of Science in Management from the University of Central Florida. In 2017, he was inducted into the UCF College of Business Hall of Fame.
