Lonny Butcher

Biography

Lonny Butcher is a business professional with over twenty years of business, HR management, and career services experience in both the public and private sectors. Lonny spent 14 years in a variety of Human Resources practitioner and leadership roles. Received Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification in Dec 2008 and Master’s Degree from LSU in Dec 1996. Five years as an Instructor for the University of Central Florida College of Business Administration teaching Human Resources and Management.

Currently leading UCF College of Business Administration’s new Office of Professional Development initiative. By merging our Undergraduate Student Services and Office for Career Connections operations, UCF’s CBA breaks the traditional “career services” paradigm and helps prepare business students for their chosen careers by matching them with experienced recruiters to guide their career search, training them to be proactive and professional job seekers, and providing employers with the opportunity to help shape their skills.

According to UCF College of Business Dean, Dr. Paul Jarley, “It is the goal of this new center to work in partnership with area employers to improve the market-readiness of our students through a series of workshops, coaching sessions and activities designed to sharpen their career goals and implement a concrete plan to launch their career by landing the job of their choice BEFORE they leave college.”
